Stay and Play Golf Orlando

The Orlando area has many options for those looking to stay at a resort or hotel and play golf. For some hotels, they may only have one golf course, but they are in a location where they are also surrounded by other excellent courses, just a few minutes drive. A brief overview of some Orlando golf courses.

Most of these hotels and resorts are covered in more depth on this website.

Resort Hotels with Multiple Golf Courses

Orlando Resort Golf

Reunion Resort – Orlando

Reunion has 3 great golf courses. Each course was designed by 3 legendary players – Nicklaus, Palmer, and Watson. Each course bears their name. The resort has a water park, restaurants, a hotel, and villas for rent. We stayed here in 2019 and would do it again.

For details, see our page on the Reunion resort:

Walt Disney World Golf – Orlando

Disney World has 4 golf courses in Orlando. The Oak Trail course is a walking course, that we’ve never played. We have played the other 3 courses many times. Disney owns and operates many hotels from which to choose.

Of course, Disney is the family vacation mecca, with hotels, restaurants, many parks, etc. For more information on the 3 excellent courses, check the pages below. If you’re coming to Orlando with the family, Disney is a great choice to stay and play golf.

Disney Lake Buena Vista Golf Course –

Omni Resort at Champions Gate – Orlando

The Omni Resort has 2 great golf courses. We haven’t stayed at this Omni, but we’ve stayed at other Omni’s so it’s sure to be a nice resort hotel.

The golf courses are both excellent. The clubhouse restaurant is also good for some lunch after your round.

If you’re staying near Disney World, Championsgate is a short drive down I-4.

Championsgate National Course –

Championsgate International Course –

Grand Cypress Resort – Orlando

Large resort with 1 18 hole course and 3 9 hole courses. See the link below for more information. This resort is on the outskirts of Disney World property.

Grand Cypress –

Orange County National – Orlando

We’ve played these courses many many times. Both Panther Lake and Crooked Cat are really nice courses. OCN is located a little further away from the Disney area than the other courses on this list. It is an easy drive down I-4 to 429 (tolls). We have not stayed in the Lodge, as we live here. Both courses are covered on our South Orlando page.

Orange County National –

Orange Lake Resort – Orlando

Technically, it has a Kissimmee address, but it’s just a short drive from Disney, on US 192. If you’re interested, here is a link to their website.

Resort Hotels with One Golf Course

The following resorts and hotels have one golf course. But most are located in an area surrounded by other courses that are a short drive to play.

Four Seasons – Orlando

My absolute favorite course in this Disney area. The Tranquilo golf course is excellent. It has elevation changes, sand, water and overall well designed. The course is now the site for an LPGA tournament and has gone private, so you need to stay there to play there. It is located within Disney and a short drive from the Waldorf course and the Disney golf courses.

Tranquilo Golf Course –

Waldorf Astoria – Orlando

This is probably our second favorite course around Disney. The property has both a Waldorf Astoria and Hilton hotel to chose from, for your stay.

Waldorf Astoria Golf Course –

Marriott World Center – Orlando

Absolutely a monstrous resort hotel. It has many restaurants, a water park, and a really nice golf course. The practice area is excellent also. Located just a few minutes from Disney, it’s a short drive to more golf courses.

Marriott World Center Hawks Landing –

Ritz Carlton – Orlando

We haven’t played here in a couple of years. The photos we have are a little dated. The resort is a little out of the way from the other courses. But, if you like the Ritz here is a link to their website.

Ritz Carlton Golf Orlando –

Shingle Creek Golf Course – Orlando

This is a great course, just off of International Drive. That makes it a 10-minute drive from Disney, and not too far from the Marriott World Center golf course also. We play this Orlando golf course often.

Shingle Creek Golf Course –

Arnold Palmers Bay Hill Club – Orlando

It’s a private golf club with a lodge. You have to be a member or stay there to play the course. We have not done either yet, but we are including for completeness. If you’re coming down to the Orlando area, it’s not near any other courses, and a bit of a drive to play any other courses. It’s is at the end of “restaurant row”, so there is no shortage of places to eat.
