Reunion Resort – Orlando

Reunion Golf Resort, while technically in Kissimmee Florida, is a short drive from Disney World. The resort has 3 nice golf courses.

This is a really great option for Stay and Play golf in Orlando. After you play the 3 on property courses, you’re a short drive to Championsgate for 2 more great courses.

The Resort

The resort is a large gated community. It has a large resort hotel, villas, timeshares, and private homes. We stayed in a 3 room villa, overlooking one of the golf courses.

The 3 room villa was larger than my first house. The carpeting was new, clean, and luxurious, compared to most hotel carpeting. The kitchen had all the amenities for cooking, if you wanted. There is a Publix grocery store across the street from the resort. The 3 rooms consisted of a master suite, with king-size bed, room 2 also had a king-size bed, and room 3 had 2 fulls. If you are sharing beds, it sleeps 6. If you’re not sharing beds, it sleeps 4. This makes it good for a family vacation or a golfing getaway for friends.

One thing to note about staying in the villas. They will ask you if you want the villa cleaned every day, for $115 per day charge! For $40 per day, they will empty the trash and replace the towels. I would suggest you pretend you’re at home and keep the place tidy yourself. If you need the towels replaced, go to Target and buy some new ones, it’s a lot cheaper. I don’t know if they do the same in the hotel. I also do not know if they charged me on the final day, as I never got a final detailed bill.

Restaurants

First night we ate at Forte. This is a good italian restaurant, everything we had was good. We ate at Eleven the next 2 nights. I tried 2 different steaks. The filet was the better of the two.

There are also restaurants at the main pool and the water park. The golf clubhouse restaurant, at the main building was under construction.

The last day, we had lunch at the Nicklaus course clubhouse. The food was excellent. We would have had lunch there every day, had we known.

The Golf

There are 3 golf courses on property. The Palmer and Watson share a clubhouse adjacent to the main resort building. Parking here is terrible. You’ll go to the bag drop, then park a very, very long way away. Overall, all 3 courses are nice, and offer the right challenge for an enjoyable time. They all wind through communities of homes, timeshares, and villas.

Nicklaus Course

This course clubhouse is not with the other 2. It’s a little bit of a drive. Reunion Nicklaus course is a very nice course.

Watson Course

The Reunion Watson course is located at the clubhouse adjacent to the main building. There isn’t any water on the course. I believe the starter said there were over 170 bunkers. I ended up in about 5 or 6 bunkers all day, so they are avoidable.

Palmer Course

We played the Palmer course on the first day. I had my best score here, and for me was probably the easiest of the 3, but they didn’t seem to be too different from each other.
