North Orlando Golf Courses
While technically, these golf courses are not in Orlando, they are on the north side of the metropolitan area. If you visiting and staying on the north side of town, here are some courses to play.
Lake Mary Golf Courses
Timacuan Golf and Country Club
When I worked in Lake Mary, I would play Timacuan Golf club almost every week. This semi-private golf club is a challenging favorite. Forest Lake Golf Club
Forest Lake Golf Club is located west of Apopka Florida, just off 429, this course has nice practice facilities, and certainly worth playing.
Winter Garden Golf Courses
Stoneybrook West Golf Club
Apparently, this course has closed in 2019.
Another local favorite. This is a nice challenging neighborhood course. Years ago, it had some of the fastest greens in town. They have slowed them down a little over the years. If you’re a visitor, expect that the greens are a little small, compared to resort golf courses. There are some holes on this course that really make it stand out. I’m terrible at remembering hole numbers, but number 1, the green slopes away from you, towards the swamp. So, you want to hit the front of the green, especially if your approach shots don’t check. There is a really short par 4, with a big fairway bunker across the whole fairway. This can be an easy par or a quick 7. There’s a dogleg par 5 that the fairway continuously narrows as you approach the green. This course is definitely a fun one to play.
Wekiva Golf Club – Longwood
This is a really good neighborhood golf course. It’s challenging for any skill level.
